Bulgarian Artist on top of the 2018 Top 10 Airplay Chart

23 January '19

Bulgarian artist is at the top of the chart of the most played singles for 2018. 4Magic and their first single Together (Vecherai, Rado) lead the TOP 10 Airplay Chart for last year, leaving behind many smashing world hits.

Together (Vecherai, Rado) by the band 4Magic is number one in the official annual national chart of the most aired songs in Bulgaria for 2018.
The data is provided to the collecting society of neighbouring rights of phonogram producers and performing artists PROPHON by the Spanish monitoring agency BMATThe chart covers the period between January 1 and December 31, 2018 and is based on 24-hour monitoring and reporting of the airplay of more than 60 TV channels and radio stations with national coverage.

The relative shares of Bulgarian and international repertoire in local media are among the most interesting elements in the official statistics of BMAT. The share of the played recordings by Bulgarian performers out of all aired tracks was as low as 22.55%, compared to 77.45% for the international tracks. This would be a growth of 0.06% relative to 2017.

In view of this trend that has been quite stable over the recent years, the top position of the local artist in the overall official airplay chart is an achievement for the Bulgarian music. The first single of the winners from the latest season of X Factor outstrips even world hits like ’Feel It Still’ of Portugal. The Man and Camila Cabello’s ‘Havana’ (second and third in the chart respectively). Fourth is again a track based on traditional Bulgarian folklore – ‘Sunbeams’ (Fabrizio Parisi & MiYan ft. Belonoga). ‘For You’ by Liam Payne and Rita Ora from the soundtrack to the film ‘Fifty Shades Freed’ rounds up the top-five lot.

In the chart for Bulgarian music only Toto N’s ‘Chuzhdi Usmivki’ is number three after ‘Together’ (‘Vecherai, Rado’) and ‘Sunbeam’. Fourth and fifth come ‘Gleday Kak Se Pravi’  by Krisko ft. Slavi Trifonov and Yoana’s debut ‘Da Ne Spim’, respectively.
