The host of the event for the second year in a row was the comedian Trevor Noah.

Among the performers were Billie Eilish, BTS, H.E.R., J Balvin, Justin Bieber, Lady Gaga and Lil Nas X, who provided some top-notch entertainment for the audience, which was eagerly expecting the results.

The winners announced during the ceremony were as follows:

   • Jon Batiste, received the Album of the Year award for the title We Are.
   • The duo Silk Sonic and their single Leave The Door Open won Record of the Year.
   • Doja Cat and SZA were named Best Pop Duo / Group Performance.
   • Best Pop Vocal Album for 2022 is Sour by Olivia Rodrigo, who also won Best New Artist and Best Pop Solo Performance.
   • Jazmine Sullivan's Heaux Tales became Best R&B Album, and Chris Stapleton's Starting Over became Best Country Album.
   • Baby Keem and Kendrick Lamar took the statuette for Best Rap Performance with their collaborative project Family Ties.
