How to protect your rights as producer or performer of music for advertising?

You are a producer or performer of music for advertisements or TV shows but you are not sure when and how often your repertoire was used and if this was properly reported?
The BMAT monitoring platform Vericast can help you safeguard more efficiently your rights when licencing of music recordings for use in promotional spots.

Here are the three easy steps to do this:

Step 1: Explicitly specify in your contracts with advertisers that licencing and payment of remuneration for the use of the recordings (transmission, broadcasting, retransmission, public performance), included in the advertising shall be in accordance to the collective rights management.

Step 2: Upload in the BMAT system the promotional spot for recognition, together with the voice-over, in the BMAT system and name it properly. It is important that you do this prior to the launching of the advertisement, so that recognition is done from the very beginning.

Step 3: Provide PROPHON with a copy of the agreement and the media airing plan for the advertisement to PROPHON.
